October Front Porch Conversation Focuses on DACA- Hosted by YWCA High Point
High Point community members are invited to the YWCA’s October Front Porch Conversation. The program is sponsored by members of the Social Justice Committee and will be focused on education around Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA was rescinded in early September by the Trump Administration and affects 800,000 undocumented youth in the United States. The panel will feature immigration attorney Ann Marie Dooley, High Point University faculty member Dr. Marjorie Church, and a local DACA student who resides in High Point. Panelists will discuss what DACA is, what will happen as it is phased out and the misconceptions and realities of our current immigration system and pathways to citizenship.
The event will take place on October 10th at 6 pm at the YWCA High Point, 112 Gatewood Ave. This program event is sponsored by members of YWCA Social Justice Committee. This event is free and open to public.
